Arizona Esthetician Licensing Requirements

To earn an esthetician license in Arizona, you must complete your training and pass the written and practical exams. Both tests are available online through Professional Credential Services, Inc. (PCS). You must apply with PCS and the state board before taking the examinations.

First, you need to submit an examination application, then register through PCS. You’ll include a 2x2 passport photo and verification of your 600 required training hours with your application. Expect to pay $177 to PCS for the written and practical exams and a non-refundable $70 fee to the state board.

When the state board receives your completed examination application, they notify PCS that you qualify for the exam. PCS will then contact you by email and provide your practical examination date and instructions on scheduling your written exam.

When you arrive for your practical examination, you need the Admission Notice that PCS emailed you. The practical portion of the exam is in English, and this exam cannot be rescheduled once assigned unless you pay an additional fee. The written exam is available in English, Spanish, Korean, and Vietnamese.

You should receive an unofficial score immediately following your written exam. PCS emails the official results of your practical and written exams within 10 business days. You can also track your scores online, but you must pay to retake the exams if you fail. However, there is no limit to how many times you can attempt the tests.

If you require Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) accommodations, submit a request form with supporting medical documentation when registering for the exam with PCS. The form is available when you fill out the online application to take your exams.
