In Pennsylvania, you can become a cosmetology instructor after you receive your regular cosmetologist’s license and complete 500 training hours. This state does not require that practitioners or instructors take continuing education units to maintain licensure between renewal periods. You will need to renew your license every two years by January 31st. The cost to renew your license is currently $67, which you will process through the Pennsylvania State Board of Cosmetology.
