License Renewal
To renew your cosmetology instructor qualifications in Rhode Island, you will need to become a licensed practitioner for at least three years, plus accumulate 300+ hours of teacher training. From there, you will have to submit the application for instructor licensure. For practitioners and instructors, Rhode Island does not require continuing education units to maintain licensure. The renewal period takes place every two years by September 30th. There is currently a $67 fee for renewing your license through the Rhode Island Department of Health.
