In Utah, there are several types of requirements for instructor licensure, depending on which area of cosmetology you want to teach in. You can find the requirements as laid out here by the State of Utah Division of Occupational and Professional Licensing. You will need at least 1,000 hours of instructor training or 3,000 hours of work experience. You’ll pay a $60 fee for each type of instructor license you want to receive. After that, you’ll need to renew your license by September 30th of odd-numbered years. The fee associated with renewal is $52.
