During my course of theory I fully documented with pictures, videos & emails to the schools support email; It was complete chaos and there fraudulent ways revealed after the first week which was a whole lie frankly what I would refer to as a “smoke screen.” The first week was a pure waste of educational time something that could have been orchestrated for the first day not the entire week, “Pre-Core” it was an ice breaker for the incoming class. We played games not relating to hair at all, watched inspirational videos, got to know our classmates on a very personal level as well as we were introduced to the owner of the school Lakia. The final day of the core, we were heavily coerced and incentivized to make a 5 star review on Google saying how great the school was to receive a shirt and a hoodie that (we never received). Aswell as we were pressured to complete forms we didn’t find out about until that day & they didn’t allow us to read them or review them just had us e-signing. First day into the actual classroom it was a LARGE class a lot more than 20 which was very hostile they constantly bickered & fought the trainee instructors sat and watch sometimes joined in. It was NO LEARNING GOING ON, at the time they proposed to us 9:15am-10:45 theory, 15min water break, 11-1 practical, and 1-2 group study.
We were never given a syllabus of what we would be learning they however enforce a “Core” schedule, that tells us what sections of the book we are focusing on for either 2-3 weeks at a time, at the end of each week (Saturday) we took electronic test. Now during those weeks there was no actual planned lesson or unplanned lesson; the trainee instructor yelled the test answers out while engaging with the student in bickering and allowing students to be disruptive as entertainment; aswell as have students write the answers on the board too the test for everyone to write them down & take pictures to “Study.” During test several students blatantly cheated with no consequences & were like “horrayed” for high scores.
I said that to say, there is and was never a set curriculum they are coming in winging it as they go as if this is not me investing my time, and energy to be certified then go onto to get licensed this is a ladder! To not receive a proper education and to see them everyday blatantly not following the board of education, or State regulations licensing & Affairs, aswell as the board of cosmetology???? I have been pulled to the side by plenty of staff & they have tried to manipulate, belittle, target, & even try to make me feel special (adjusting my time at school, or buying me gifts/food) it is all a trick to get me to be quiet and stop asking questions. I believe they are stealing not only money but they aren’t investing any into the school everything is outdated, nothing or no one is following the conduct of cleanliness & sanitation requirements. They barely have any resources they give kits out based on your attendance when your tuition covers it regardless, and that leaves you having to scrounge for every item you have and they end up stealing it and marking it as P&A property to dispense to others (Directly from the kits I have proof). Aswell as they are barely distributing state required items & everything is very low quality and they offer very little unless you offer money. They refill products with cheap mimicking products & they simply don’t replenish the dispensary of important items so we are lacking not using it while doing styling with no instructions. I believe they our committing fraud through our government funds (FSA) and I believe they are not giving any type of education they our running the clinical floor like an actual salon the prices are high & we are doing 4-5 clients each in a day all week with no licensed instructor supervision! If I could give negative I would please stop giving these fake reviews& help the next person in OUR COMMUNITY! I am devastated I invested ALOT INTO THIS! I don’t believe they deserve to be accredited any longer.

0 stars!! I’ve have tried to reapply to start classes had interviews with members sent in person information filled out for financial aid and everything… it’s been a month since I’ve heard from anyone!! I’ve called they never answer! I’ve emailed with no response! It’s ridiculous at this point did you just want to get my sensitive information for fraud? Because why is it impossible to get a hold of anyone in regards to enrollment that I started over a month ago this is like my third time trying to give this school a chance!! For anyone looking to start a career in the beauty industry. It will be a mistake to attend this school don’t waste your time or energy. Clearly no one there is dedicated to their jobs.
