As a former barber student at TSPA, I regret to say that my experience at the school was not what I had hoped for. During my time as a full-time student, I faced a multitude of issues with both staff and fellow students that made learning almost impossible. The high level of drama within the school was a constant distraction, and it was difficult to focus on my studies. In the foundations course, I had to rely on myself to learn the entire curriculum as the teacher was often too busy with the Cosmo students. Additionally, within a span of just three months, we had four different teachers, which made it difficult to establish a stable learning environment. When I needed help with a particular service, I found that the teachers were often unhelpful and would instead criticize the quality of the students' work without offering any guidance on how to improve. Such unprofessional behavior was frustrating and did not foster a positive learning experience. Overall, I would not recommend TSPA to anyone interested in pursuing a career in barbering. The school's lackluster approach, combined with the negative environment, left me feeling mentally drained and ill-equipped with the necessary skill set upon graduation.

*WARNING: THEY’LL CANCEL YOUR APPOINTMENT THE DAY OF* They cancelled my appointment the day of as I was leaving the house. The salon called me 25 mins before my appointment to tell me that the stylist called out sick and no one else was available to do my hair. She offered to reschedule, but I told her today was the only day I could do it because I work Monday thru Friday and my birthday was on Friday. Which is why I scheduled my appointment months in advance from my last haircut with Jay. Spoke with Melissa, one of the educators, and all she said was that she was sorry and recommended me to go elsewhere. I asked if they can cut my hair any day before my birthday on Friday after 5 when I get off work, and she said no because they close at 6.
