I loved Daytona State College. I ended up being a long-term student. I first attended when it was a community college when I had a young family. I finished an Assoc. of Arts in Business Admin and Mgmt. in 2015. The business and accounting classes taught then were outstanding and the accounting proficiency I obtained landed me an amazing job with Yale Law School, where I worked for 12 years and was promoted twice. Most of my classes were online and many were not easy, but I gained an excellent education. I had previously attended Brigham Young University after High School and it was top-notch. Daytona State College did not disappoint. They worked with me so well, even when I enrolled from out-of-state for classes. I don't know how much it has changed in the last decade, but I highly recommend it, based on my experience. I felt like when I received my degree that I had earned it. Not a fake piece of paper from a college who graduates students whether they have learned anything, or not. If that is all you want, then attend someplace else. Just know, I succeeded in my jobs and in my current self-employment because they prepared me well. I am a grateful alum! I only wish I could have gone on to obtain a bachelor's degree.

I highly recommend the Basic Law Enforcement Academy through DSC. All of the instructors are very knowledgeable in their fields and always available to work with you. Their expectations are high, but attainable. They truly care about your success and push you to keep going. I really appreciated the instructors giving us the good, the bad, and the ugly parts of law enforcement as it gave my class an introduction into what we will see in our careers with zero glorification or sugar coating. Also, the program director and manager are very understanding when life gets in the way. I’m so grateful to have been part of this program. Lastly, as a self-sponsored recruit, I found this program to be the most affordable compared to other programs in neighboring counties.

Tonight, I attended the Departures & Thesis Opening Reception at the Southeast Museum of Photography at Daytona State College. The Departures & Thesis are annual exhibitions that highlight the artistry of recent graduates from Daytona State College, as well as graduating seniors in the B.S. Degree program at the University of Central Florida. What a WONDERFUL and LOVEY experience!!!!! The staff and artists were all so very kind and welcoming! The art.. much of the art left me speechless!!!! EXTREMELY impressive!!!! I can't wait to come back!!! I attended DSC, where I completed my associates degree in 2009. Before then, I'd often volunteer to help install photo exhibits at the former Southeast Museum of Photography building. Tonight was my first time in the newer building. Beautiful and very thoughtful architecture, even the floor tiles represent film. Brilliant! Bravo!!!! I am so very grateful to have attended tonight, and as I said, I can't wait to come back to see more!!!
