I wish I could give 0 star! I had a really bad experience with this black lady named Sophie. I guess she was an instructor there. She was very rude and unprofessional. I went in for a haircut, and I asked for layers. However, she was so quick with the cut that it didn’t even look like there were layers. It was clear that she rushed through it. Afterward, I asked her to straighten my hair because it didn’t look good, and she refused. She gave excuses and said there wasn’t enough time. It was 3:37, and the salon closed at 4:00, so there was still 27 minutes left. Straightening hair doesn’t take that long, so it didn’t make sense to me that she couldn’t do it. The situation got worse when other students saw how bad my hair looked and helped me fix it. They straightened my hair and tried to fix the uneven cuts. After they fixed it, I could clearly see how much she messed up my hair. She rushed to leave when she saw me got my hair fixed. She seemed very unwilling to help. I would not recommend getting any service from her. She is unprofessional, and I won’t be going back! She should be fired!

My sister was in the nail program and to her surprise last night she sees her classmates posting on social media that theyre graduating. Apparently a group chat was made and the school didnt include my sister in this chat. The day she was waiting for. The day US, her family, was waiting for to celebrate her & yall robbed her from this experience.

If I could give 0 stars I would. This is the worst cosmetology school in the state of Tennessee. I went here back in 2020 when Covid hit. We got sent to do online classes for a little and when we were able to go back in person there was no organization at all. No teachers and never got to do any hands on work. Everything was free ball. You go in supposed to do a service but never taught anything and just have to learn it yourself. I went into this school thinking they would teach me how to do these things cut hair, dye hair, style, etc. But everything I learned had to be on my own. Luckily I was able to get my license due to me preparing and shout out to Ms. Ella for teaching what is needed to pass state board. But other than that everything was a nightmare. 4 years later here I am trying to get my college degree to get into school and start a new path and when I call asking to get transcripts from them they keep saying they can’t find them. I am calling for a whole month up there until Lea says “I will send them to you” I’m in contact with my college and they said they haven’t received them yet. I call again and the same thing “ I will send them this afternoon” and in the end they never send them. They just kept stalling me out and I was over it. I told my college what was going on and wasn’t able to get those transcripts. If you are considering a career in cosmetology and want to elevate yourself, don’t come to this school.

Editor's Description
Located in Nashville, the Shear Perfection Academy of Cosmetology is "no ordinary beauty school." On Google, Michelle Leon says, "The Aesthetics program is unbeatable. Without Mrs. Kym, the school would not be what it is. You can't get this education with any other instructor."
Their cosmetology program is 1,500 hours, which takes between 11 and 14 months to complete. Expect your study to split focus between general, chemical, and physical topics.
The 750-hour esthetics program trains you in massage therapy, facials, skin care, and makeup application. The hybrid education format combines book learning with hands-on training.
You can also sign up for the in-demand nail technician program, which focuses on 600 hours of advanced nail techniques and safety standards.
Finally, check out the instructor program if you want to become a teacher in your field. The 300 hours take two months of full-time or three months of part-time study.
The school also offers plenty of opportunities to help pay for your education, including financial aid and scholarships.
