I am extremely disappointed with my experience at this school (Round Rock campus) due to the lack of communication and professionalism.
I specifically called to ask whether they perform blonde color corrections to fix an issue from another salon. I was told they did, so I came in for a consultation. During the consultation, an instructor examined my hair, discussed a correction plan, provided a price quote, and scheduled me to return the following day for the service. I was also told the service could potentially be done the same day, but I chose to return the following day due to my schedule.
When I arrived for my appointment, I was informed by the supervising instructor that they would not be performing the service after all. I was told the original instructor should have obtained approval first and that the school does not offer this type of correction.
No one contacted me beforehand to cancel despite having my phone number and knowing I was expected to return. I drove approximately 35 minutes each way and took time off work for an appointment that had effectively been canceled without notice.
When I asked why I had not been contacted, I received little explanation or concern for the inconvenience.
I understand that schools may have limitations on the services they provide. My issue is not that they declined the service, but that I was told it could be done, attended a consultation, was scheduled to return, and then was turned away without any advance notice.
This resulted in wasted time, unnecessary travel, and considerable frustration. I would not recommend this place based on my experience.

If I could give Central Texas Beauty College more than five stars, I absolutely would. My experience here has been nothing short of life-changing, and I truly believe this school is one of the best beauty colleges in the entire Austin area. From the moment I walked through the doors, I felt like I wasn’t just enrolling in a program, I was becoming part of a community that genuinely wants to see every student succeed.
One of the biggest things that makes Central Texas Beauty College stand out is the incredible instructors. They don’t just teach from a textbook they teach from real experience, passion, and dedication to the craft. Every instructor takes the time to make sure students (me) understand not just how to do something, but why it matters. They are patient, encouraging, and always willing to help, no matter how many questions I have. They push me to do my best while also reminding me that learning is a process. That kind of support makes all the difference when I am building confidence in a hands-on career.
The instructors truly care about each student as an individual. They recognize potential and help bring it out in me, even when I might not see it in myself yet. Whether it’s perfecting technique, building professionalism, or learning how to treat clients with respect and confidence, they prepare me for the real world of the beauty and barber industry.
Another huge reason this school is so special is the owner. It’s rare to see leadership that is so involved, supportive, and genuinely invested in the students. The owner (Ms Jennifer) doesn’t just run the school she helps create an environment where people feel welcomed, respected, and motivated to succeed. Her passion for the industry and for educating the next generation of professionals is clear in everything she does. That leadership sets the tone for the entire school and is a big reason why the culture here is so positive.
Central Texas Beauty College doesn’t just teach skills it teaches confidence, professionalism, and pride in my craft. The program gives me the opportunity to practice real techniques, work with real clients, and build the kind of experience that prepares me for a successful career. The learning environment is supportive but also pushes me to grow and take my work seriously.
What I appreciate most is that this school understands that everyone comes from different backgrounds and experiences. Instead of treating me like numbers, they treat me like a future professional. They celebrate my progress, encourage my growth, and help me stay focused on my goals.
Because of my time here, I feel far more prepared, confident, and excited about my future in this industry. The knowledge, guidance, and mentorship I’ve received from the instructors and leadership have made a lasting impact on me. I’m truly grateful for the time I’ve spent learning here.
If you’re considering a career in the beauty or barber industry and you’re looking for a school in the Austin area, I can honestly say that Central Texas Beauty College should be at the top of your list. The level of care, education, and support your going to receive here is something special and hard to find.
Thank you to the entire team at Central Texas Beauty College for creating such a powerful learning environment and for helping shape the next generation of professionals. I’m proud to be a student here, and I will always recommend this school to anyone who wants a place that truly believes in their success.
Another experience that means so much to me during my time here at Central Texas Beauty College is the opportunity to participate in and help with career fairs. Being trusted to represent the school and connect with people who are interested in entering this industry is truly an honor. It shows me that the staff and leadership believe in their students and want them to be involved in the growth and future of the profession.
For that opportunity, and for the trust that came with it, I am deeply grateful!
