I want to preface this review by saying that while I understand that the stylists here are students in training and are still learning, failure to handle simple requests, having a poor attitude and causing pain and discomfort during the haircut should be addressed and corrected immediately and reflects poorly on the quality of the services provided at this location.
I requested my stylist to give me a simple haircut. I only had 2 instructions, cut down to 1.5 mm on the sides and back tapered, and cut one inch off the top and front, or about 1 months worth of growth. This is my monthly maintenance cut, so very straightforward with no complex instructions.
The cut was uncomfortable and painful as the stylist pressed the clipper blades extremely hard against my scalp. I have had upwards of a hundred haircuts in my life and not once have I ever had an experience as unpleasant as this. There was absolutely no reason to press the clippers that hard against my head, and this made the whole experience awful from start to finish.
Secondly, the stylist was rude and dismissive. During the cut, they never once asked me how I would like my hair done, and simply did what they thought was right. During the cut, when I asked them to correct an area of my haircut that I felt was uneven, they demanded that, and I quote “close my eyes” and to just let them do their job. This was an extremely rude and unprofessional to talk to their client like this.
Finally, the worst part of the cut was their inability to follow simple instructions. After taking a scissor cut to the top and front of my hair, I requested that the stylist cut just a little bit more off the top of my hair. When I say a little bit more, I mean it. About 0.5-1 cm off the top would be perfect. However, they decided to take a lazy shortcut and just attached a 1” guard to their clippers and cut the entire top of my hair down to 1 inch. For reference, my hair is usually 2”+ at the top after a haircut. They completely messed up my hair and cut it way too short, which was absolutely not what I asked for.
This experience has left a poor taste in my mouth for Baldwin Beauty School as a whole that this stylist was allowed to give such a poor haircut without any instructor supervision whatsoever during the entirety of the haircut. I hope that the owners are able to address this extremely unprofessional stylist, and offer a resolution.

I had a great experience with my stylist. I explained to her what I was looking for, and she nailed it. I absolutely loved the results of full highlights, grey coverage, and haircut. It was a complete transformation! Love it . Also, very reasonably priced. I would highly recommend them.
