Enrolling at VSKI Cosmetology School has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. After being out of school for 16 years, I was nervous about starting over, but VSKI instantly made me feel supported, welcomed, and capable. The instructors here don’t just teach you how to pass State Board (though they prepare you extremely well for that). They teach you real salon skills, real professionalism, and give you the confidence to step into this industry with your head held high.
My experience wasn’t all sunshine and rainbows, life had its ups and downs, and school had its tough days too, but the environment at VSKI truly felt like a family. The instructors are knowledgeable, funny, patient, and genuinely invested in your success. They push you, encourage you, celebrate you, and give you the space to grow into the stylist you’re meant to be. Between the hands-on training, State Board prep, and clinic floor experience with real clients, I walked away knowing I am fully prepared for my career.
VSKI didn’t just make me a better stylist, it helped me become a more confident version of myself. I learned my strengths, found my voice, and discovered skills I never knew I had. This school gave me the foundation I needed to go out into the world and start my journey in the beauty industry.
If you’re thinking about enrolling, do it. Whether you’re starting fresh, coming back after years, or chasing a dream you put on hold, VSKI is the place that will meet you where you are and help you become who you want to be. I’m graduating with skills, confidence, and a career I’m proud of—all thanks to VSKI.

I am so glad that I chose this school! Each instructor has something different to offer and they are continually improving their program to meet the students’ needs. If there was ever an issue that was brought to their attention, they were quick to address it.
Thanks to their dedication to teaching (and my eagerness to learn), I was able to pass my state boards with little to no anxiety! The instructors also understood the importance of knowing the science behind the why’s in our industry which is huge. You can also tell that they genuinely care about each student’s success. They are incredibly knowledgeable and talented and I am not only a better stylist, but also a better person for having known them.
They do require students to leave a review on certain social medias as a part of rubrics, which I feel is sketchy. However, I have already graduated from there and I don’t have any pressure to leave this review.
There have been some people who have had issues with this school. I never had any. If you are thinking about coming here you have to be dedicated, responsible, and motivated. If you love to complain, crave drama, are lazy, and/or prone to making excuses for your lack of motivation, then please just save the other students that actually want to be there (and are actually excited to be there) the headache and go somewhere else where they won’t care if you show up or not. I want it to be clear, though, that the instructors will hold you accountable while being understanding of your personal needs and situations. They want you to do more than just graduate. They genuinely want to see you succeed in this industry!
From the very first day in class to the time that I graduated, I loved every minute of my 1500 hours. I have zero regrets coming here. I would 100% recommend this school to anyone who is serious about wanting to join our industry!
They thoroughly train you for your state boards to the point that you could do it in your sleep! But it is worth it when you walk into the testing center knowing that you are going to nail it. They instruct you just as thoroughly in theory too! They want to produce capable and safe stylists and that’s exactly what you will be when you graduate!
Thank you Vski for such a wonderful and inspiring experience! I am more excited than ever to start my career!

This school is deeply disappointing and operates with questionable integrity. Students are pressured into completing manipulative assignments — such as written assignments praising instructors and PowerPoints with pictures and animation — with the promise of receiving “hours” back, but only if the school subjectively approves the effort. Even worse, the school has graduated students who had not actually completed the required hours, which is dishonest and unfair to those who worked to meet the standards legitimately.
The environment itself is unprofessional. Student concerns are dismissed, miscommunications are denied instead of acknowledged, and mental health struggles tied to seating and classroom dynamics were brushed off without care. Creativity is stifled by instructors who openly insult recognized techniques outside their own, making it unsafe to learn or ask questions. On multiple occasions, we were left under the supervision of a newly graduated student-instructor who made mistakes on clients, raising serious concerns about the quality of education.
Adding to this, students are forced to write positive reviews as part of their grading rubrics. Because of that, you should not assume the glowing reviews on Google reflect the real student experience.
This program presents itself as “elite,” but in reality, it relies on shortcuts, manipulation, and image over substance. Allowing unearned graduations, tying hours to subjective praise, and manufacturing online reviews is unacceptable. I would strongly caution anyone considering this school to look elsewhere for a cosmetology education with integrity.
