LENGTHY REVIEW: Let me first start out and say this review does NOT reflect the students, or my nail technician - Deja. She was amazing as well as any other student I spoke to. I was booked for a full set last week, was given an appointment time of 5 pm today. Emailed reminders as well as confirmed via email for my appointment. I arrived at 4:41pm, a little early. I seen the AM receptionist leave the building. As I am waiting in my car, several students begin to arrive. 5:01 pm, I walk to the door- to find out it's locked. Myself and the students are locked out. My nail tech tells me she's sorry that the Instructor hasn't arrived yet. And from what I understand this happens often. Fast forward to 5:28pm... The instructor whom I later find out is the OWNER of this building comes from INSIDE the building and unlocks the door. She starts chastising various students about the uniform. NEVER once did she acknowledge me, apologize for having me waiting outside well past my appointment time- nothing. A paying customer. She said nothing. She arrogantly wandered around the salon, and still no apology, explanation, nothing. Her students were more apologetic than she was. It's completely disrespectful. As a business owner- she should be ashamed of herself but I feel like she's too high up on her horse to see the error. We all called SEVERAL times from the parking lot - which I know she heard the phones ringing because she was inside the entire time. THIS WAS MY FIRST VISIT!! And her blatant disrespect set the tone for sure. As a so called Dr. (She has her Docrate) for this line of work... It's terrible. The students are required to provide their own supplies, they do NOT receive anything from the services they provide - unless you tip them. She never once came and supervised or "instructed" either of the nail technicians in the area. How can you call yourself an instructor let alone a business owner with this behavior? You have no regard for anyone's time, and in my opinion - their money. As a paying customer an apology would have went a long way since YOU were the reason I had to wait. Deja the technician - you my love are amazing 😍 I am so sorry to you and your fellow students that you have to deal with someone like that while trying to get a better knowledge of your career.. Please do not let that "woman" and I use that term lightly, dim your light. Dr. Opal- you should maybe take a few more classes on proper etiquette and business management. As well as some time management skills. Humility goes a long way. I walked right past you- obviously a client and you showed me no concern for your error. It's says alot that the only way I learned your name was from reading certificates on your walls and previous reviews similar to my own experience. I gave your establishment the benefit of doubt knowing some of the things I read that were negative - and I believe them all to be true about you. Ladies of the evening class- I wish you all the best of luck on your future endeavors... I am truly sorry this is the type of behavior you all have to deal with.
