My first haircut experience at the school was fantastic. This second cut was at least 5 inches shorter than I asked for and not at all to my wishes. I understand training schools and taking that into consideration, I am still very disappointed. The first cut was made by the instructor, and it was already too short. The instructor was more concerned about her upcoming review, than listening to what I wanted. It will grow back, but I particularly hate short hair, especially when I was looking for a mid length cut. In the end, the two sides were uneven, so we had to cut even more. I have naturally curly hair that is fairly thin and he texturized it making the curls look like split ends.

I have been a client of sbcc cosmetology academy for over 20 years now. I have never had a bad service there. I love being able to go and get cheaper services then the market price while also helping students practice their craft. I've had both haircuts and perms there and have always been happy. The way the program is set up, teachers always check the students work so you don't need to be scared of the students making a mistake. You do end up spending a little bit more time here than an average salon because students are working on you, but I think it's more than worth the price difference between the cosmetology academy and a normal salon. The salon is always clean and the students always practice the best disinfection practices. I've never worried about sanitation when there. The atmosphere is always lively and bright. The instructors and students have always been kind to me. I'm not sure if they take walk-in clients currently, but it's relatively easy to call them and make an appointment for a service. Usually in the beginning of the school semester they are very booked but as long as you call ahead you should be able to find an appointment. They are conveniently located right by a public parking lot. If you're getting more than a simple haircut, I suggest finding unlimited time street parking just so you don't have to pay at the public parking lot as some services can take longer here than other salons.
