LISTEN! I was looking up google maps for barber colleges as I’ve gone to one downtown and parking was difficult and the place seemed a bit rundown and sad. Saw this place on Google Maps and ignored some of the salty reviews to make my own opinion. Y’all! This place was nice. Students and staff wore coordinating but relaxed uniforms. I saw students and staff of all backgrounds (Black, Caucasian, Latino, Asian) and everyone was nice and professional, yet there was a cool vibe with hip hop/rap playing and TVs on the wall. The place was clean. These are STUDENTS so expect that they’re learning, my student barber was smart and asked a lot of questions and flagged down two different instructors during the course of my cut. I look forward to my next $10 cut. If you’re looking for appointments or a quick cut, you might want to try a barber rather than a haircut in a learning environment.

I Arrived in San Diego a couple years ago. Have gone to a different barber every time I get a gentleman's cut and clean shave for different reasons. Today I showed up to RUBC and was welcomed in with with open arms and open scissors. From the moment I walked in til the moment I left it was indeed an outstanding experience and my cut and shave were stellar. And I was enlightened while present for an all hands on deck conversation with the leadership and student team; primarily about safety, diligence, professionalism, discipline, and communication among other things. This was also amazing. This type of dialogue should be personally and professionally on the table in every setting. My stylist/barber @mc_fadez was a true magician with the tools of the trade putting her skills to work and following expert guidance. and I recommend RUBC to anyone looking for their barber / beauty needs !
