My stylist was great. The admin was shady and unprofessional. I went to a black stylist to do my black/samoan textured hair. I walked in with the products needed for my hair. All of the admin saw me and my products. My stylist directed me to her chair and I sat all my stuff down at her station. She then took me to wash my hair. Everything was fine. When we returned to her chair, the woman who was watching over the stylist on the floor came around and talked to my stylist. She looked at me, she looked at the counter (where my products were), asked my stylist what she was doing and walked her through the guest portfolio. The woman left us alone. My stylist then blow dried my hair and began to braid my hair down. The same woman comes back and talks to her, not saying anything out of the ordinary. Everything was fine. The stylist continues doing my hair. She finishes braiding down my hair and the same woman pulls her to the back. After about 15 minutes, my stylist comes back and tells me she is not allowed to finish my hair. She then instructs me to wait so she can find some sort of accommodation for me. The same woman who walked and talked to us 3 times kept walking around me, looking at me, not saying a word and not making eye contact with me. The admin says nothing to me, does not accommodate me, and does not apologize for making me leave with my hair half way done. I felt very embarrassed, discriminated against, and as if the establishment was being racist. I wouldn’t have minded if an admin told me at the initial check in at the desk that they couldn’t do the service I needed instead of waiting until I was halfway done. Especially when they saw me walk in with products in my hand. And waited for more than an hour to tell MY STYLIST that she couldn’t finish my hair. The woman had asked what my stylist was doing the first time she came over, she could have said something then. But waiting until the stylist was halfway done, then not explaining to me, THE CLIENT, personally, that they were not going to let my stylist finish or accommodate me…I’ve never felt more humiliated in my life. I learned that my stylist wasn’t able to do the service because NO OTHER stylist knows how to do the service I needed. My question is…in training, no one knows how to do perms, color, etc… but everyone on the floor knows how to do these things and they’re allowed to do them on the floor…so why couldn’t my stylist finish my hair when she knows how to do it? I have pictures/videos and time stamps of this entire day. If you have textured hair, or a darker complexion, I’d suggest not getting your hair done here.

Went in there on a Groupon. Said they couldn’t accommodate me because my hair is just too damaged. Made a big deal about it. My hair is not too damaged. It’s actually very healthy it just needed a trim. My mother is a beautician so we know about these things. Drove there almost an hour away, was able to get childcare for the day. Made a big deal as soon as I walked in the door. The student was fine but the teacher was not. Do not waste your time. They wouldn’t even refund me. This ruined my whole day now I’m not the money I paid as well as the gas it took to get there.

I met with Alyssa as a first time client and she did great! I have natural 4C hair which can be time consuming to work through. She was very gentle with my hair, kind and patient. She was also knowledgeable on my hair type and very receptive with tips given from her instructor. I’m very impressed Paul Mitchell
