"Whatever makes you uncomfortable is your biggest opportunity for growth." - Someone intelligent I started my journey with Jenny Lea Academy as a student several years ago and I decided to enroll in their instructor program. I've always wanted to impact other people's lives, and being a hair stylist is rewarding. Because of this, I needed to take it a step further in my career. Year to date, I am proud to say this is the best decision that I have ever made. I received support from the owners, from the experienced senior instructors, and my peers; lastly, the growth process of interacting with clients and students every day challenged me. My personal growth has elevated to a whole new level that I notice everyday.

I am an employee at JLA and I took my instructor class at the school with Miss Fritts. I would not have wanted to learn from anyone else. She taught me how to be a great instructor. She has 40+ years of experience and taught me everything I needed to know. If anyone is interested in our instructor program I highly recommend taking this class. I am now a licensed instructor dualed in cosmetology and barbering thanks to all the help I've had here!

I really give this place a 1 star review however I wanted people to see the review and owners of business pay to have only the better reviews out front so therefore I had to leave at least a 3. I’m sure the owners will respond with something to make the review unjust so here goes. All I can say is, where are they getting the employees from that work here? It was like going to a cosmetology school for the blind. Does Family Dollar have a Cosmetology program people don’t know about? My girlfriend got her hair done by a student the other day and I sat with her. The instructor for the senior students has NO IDEA what’s going on much less how to do anything related to hair. She was running amuck and all ragged like she didn’t have a clue. Not enough experience PERIOD and you could easily tell. Gave the student the wrong color to put on my girlfriend’s hair. Wasn’t anything like she wanted, even with a picture. The attitude of another teacher in there with the inexperienced one was even worse. I am thankful that the student knew what she was halfway doing and told us both that she had been around salons since she was little or I would have taken my girlfriend out of there. Apparently it matters who you get as to what price you pay. That’s ridiculous. It should be the same across the board because it’s a school. My girlfriend came here a few years back and the teachers were really great then. I just believe if you are going to charge what you charge for services it needs to be worthy of the establishment . Therefore 1 star for the review for the lack of teaching and helping the student properly. Cosmetology schools should hired qualified teachers that have 10+ years experience
