Bilingual Classes Available!!
Well-versed in the latest beauty industry techniques and its trends. Students are also provided running a salon/spa, and costumer care techniques. All Florida Barber Academy graduates are prepared to become licensed professionals.
We are focused on being well-versed in the all the latest beauty trends and techniques, and offer students a first-hand experience on running their own salon, spa, or shop. We effectively implement the best customer services techniques and standards. The foundation of our training prepares our graduates for life of success in the beauty industry.
Our goal has always been to prepare students in the beauty industry. We strive to provide our students with the industry best classrooms and equipment. Florida Barber Academy is dedicated to each student's professional growth and development from registration day, all the way, until graduation day and becoming an integral part of their professional community.
Professional Facilities
We offer our students a well-equipped facility with a dedicated support of all certified faculty. Our campus is suited with spacious classrooms, media room, lecture room, student lounge, and much more. We have a dedicated student services department that will guide each student through each phase of their program and offer workshop and seminars with guest speakers and industry professionals.
Beauty Education
Our students are given the choice of five different programs at Florida Barber Academy:
Barber Program
The purpose of the Barber program is to prepare students for state licensing and employment. The courses include the required. education from the Florida Barbers' Board. The program consists of 900 hours which includes a combination of theoretical and practical applications. The courses include but are not limited to safe and efficient work practices, human relations and employability skills, Florida barber laws and rules, knowledge of barbering and its relation to chemistry, bacteriology, haircutting, and the development of practical skills in performing the manipulative techniques required in the practice of barbering
Program Required Hours: 900
Cosmetology
This program is designated to provide students with the required theory and practical skills, to take and pass the State Cosmetology License Examination and engage in the beauty profession. This program of study is designed to provide the students with the skills to beautify hair through shampooing, hairstyling, hair shaping, hair coloring, permanent waving, and hair relaxing. The program also includes beautifying of the skin, hands and feet.
Program Required Hours: 1,200
Full Specialist
This program is designed to teach students the art and science of beautifying the skin and nails. Students with a Full Specialist license will be able to provide client services for skin and nail care, proper precautions to perform services in a sanitary and safe manner, as well as identify contraindications. Program content includes current information in areas such as infection control, facials, hair removal, and nail techniques.
Upon completion of this program, graduates will receive a diploma from Florida Barber Academy, and qualify for State licensing as a Full Specialist. At that point they may pursue an exciting career in the beauty industry.
Program Required Hours: 600 Clock Hours
Nail Technician
This program is designed to teach students the art and science of beautifying the nails of the hands and feet, to give a professional hand and foot massage, and to use safety precautions and sanitation methods. Students will learn to identify diseases and disorders of the nails. Nail Extensions, Nail Wraps, Gel Nails and Nail Art will be included, along with current information on infection control. Upon completion of this program, graduates will receive a diploma from Florida Barber Academy, and qualify for State licensing as a Nail Technician. At that point they may pursue an exciting career in the beauty industry.
Program Required Hours: 180 Clock Hours.
Students in all our programs are encouraged to learn and practice with seasoned professionals, while expressing their own uniqueness and creativity.
Facial Specialist
The Facial Specialist program introduces a career filled with unlimited potential that graduates may pursue in many different directions. Facial Specialist play a vital role in the lives of their clients by providing ongoing services such as facials, waxing, and basic makeup, all of which enable their clients to look and feel their best. Instruction is designed to qualify students for employment upon successfully obtaining a Facials Specialty licensure.
Upon completion of this program, graduates will receive a diploma from Florida Barber Academy, and qualify for State licensing as a Facial Specialist. At that point they may pursue an exciting career in the beauty industry.
Program Required Hours: 224 Clock Hours.
