I wish I would have read the reviews before I enrolled here. This is the most unprofessional school you could ever enroll in. Certain staff members have attitudes and on top of that don’t even teach what you are supposed to be learning. It is basically an independent study where you are teaching yourself & are only there to get the required hours for state board not to learn. It is dirty & there is dead roaches everywhere (not sure if they’ve solved the roach issue by now). Nobody cleans up after themselves at their stations. It was always an issue trying to find paper towels & other supplies which are a necessity when doing acrylic nails. The monomer the school provides you with is mma which is illegal to use on nails. I know this because when performing soak offs it would be gummy & sticky & would take a very long time to fully remove. You do not receive the nail kit or text books you pay for from the school in a timely manner. While I was attending it took my classmate over a month to receive her books & acrylic brush which is understandably frustrating. When brought up to admin multiple times christy from admissions then came & yelled at e our class stating that it was not her fault. The next day she was called to Dolores’ (also from admissions) office & written up for “causing a disruption among students” & told she couldn’t talk about those issues with the school with other classmates. Nobody follows dress code because they never give you your shirts because they claim that they themselves have not received them yet. I was dress coded one day by Dolores & she told me to leave the building I explained to her I’d do so after I used my friends phone to get a hold of my ride as I had forgotten my purse & cellphone in the car that day when I was dropped off. She wanted me to leave immediately & wouldn’t allow me to make a phone call to be picked up. At the time I was pregnant & I guess she just wanted me to stand in the parking lot & somehow try & figure it out from out there. After this I submitted a complaint stating that I had never received the 3 shirts I paid for so it was difficult to always be in dress code. I never received a response. I also never received the shirts before I graduated. When I’m the process of graduating I was told that I could not graduate on my assigned day because they didn’t do graduations on mondays & that they would check with Suzanne to make sure it was okay to graduate that Tuesday, she approved. That Tuesday I am called into christys office to sign paperwork for over contract fees where they were trying to charge me close to $100 for not graduating Monday & “going over my scheduled hours”. The day I graduated I submitted a grievance form requesting a refund for for the shirts I paid for but didn’t receive I would reach out to Julie about once a month for an update on my refund & she’d say she was working on it with Suzanne. It’s since been about 6 months with no refund & Julie has since started ignoring my messages. The only person I ever found helpful was Ms. Denise the barber/cosmo evening instructor & I do appreciate her for always helping to the best of her ability. Overall this school is dirty, unprofessional, and money hungry. I’m not sure how they are still in business. I would not recommend this school to anyone else & will make sure that anyone who I know is considering it knows everything that I experienced while attending here.
