At the Cosmetology & Spa Academy located in Crystal Lake and Schaumburg, Illinois, you'll learn innovative haircutting and coloring, Sam Villa's thermal tool designs and techniques, the latest nail techniques, skincare, and the business skill set from Milady. As a family-owned school, we care about our students and try to understand their areas of interest and help them grow in their natural talent. The class sizes are small, 90% of the learning is hands-on and our instructors are veteran professionals. Learn the secrets of the professional beauty world and take advantage of internships, special events and competitions!

Programs

From hairstylists, nail technicians, and salon owners to beauty magazine editors, cosmetic marketers, and beauty consultants, our Cosmetology, Esthetics and Instructor programs can prepare you for a variety of career opportunities. You can learn all about beauty though in-class instruction and hands-on training, along with learning client care, upselling and ways to grow a loyal clientele. The decision is up to you; choose your program of study:

  • Cosmetology: 1,500 hours of training in preparation for the Illinois state board exam. Classes include Vidal Sassoon haircutting and coloring, hair design, Martin Parsons' long hair and spa training, and practical salon experience.
  • Esthetics: 750 hours of training, including methods to help control acne, reduce scarring, even out pigmentation, diverse waxing techniques, chemical peels, aromatherapy and more.
  • Instructor Program: A program for licensed cosmetologists with more than two years of training to prepare for a career as a cosmetology, esthetics or nail tech instructor.
  • Barber: Are you looking for a fun & exciting career that is expect to grow 14% through the year 2020? Our barber program is for you!! We feature the latest techniques in cutting, styling and coloring. Our curriculum feature's Sassoon cutting, as well as American Crew and Toni and Guy. Our men's cutting team has trained all over the world in the highest fashion markets such as London, Paris, Rome and LA. This program is not accredited yet.

Future

Upon completion of your program at Cosmetology & Spa Academy in Crystal Lake or Schaumburg, you should be prepared to take the Illinois state board exam. Once you pass your exam, you can be on your way into the exciting world of beauty. We also provide resume building assistance, keep an active job board, write letters of recommendation, host job fairs and provide financial aid for those who qualify.

Did we mention our institute has some added perks? Students are offered free parking, student lounges with dispensaries, student lockers and a free 10-inch tablet. Also, undergraduates who have reached 600 hours may receive one free or discounted beauty salon service per week!
