Bucks County School of Beauty Culture (BCSBC) provides state-of-the-art education and training in a highly specialized field to students who meet its admissions requirements. Without regard to sex, race, age, religion or socio-economic status, the school offers the benefits of its to those willing to attempt its rigorous curriculum. BCSBC takes an interest in the whole person and makes every effort to ensure that capable students can attend and progress.

The school offers a comprehensive program, educating its students to work as Hairdressers, Estheticians and Nail Technicians. These programs require an understanding of both the "art" and the "science" of beauty culture, and demand a highly qualified faculty with broad knowledge and experience. BCSBC aggressively recruits instructional personnel who can meet its high standards. The desire for faculty of the highest quality is in keeping with the school's philosophy of striving for excellence in the level of its.

The BCSBC instructional mission centers on teaching both the theory and practice of beauty culture. Styles continually change, and graduates will have to adapt to new technology and fashion trends. The school trains its students so they can "grow into" new approaches smoothly, by providing a solid foundation in the scientific principles which underlie the techniques taught in the program.

Our long-range mission is to provide a basis for life-long learning. Graduates must be able to assess their own needs to meet the needs of a changing world. Current societal changes are accompanied by a strong interest on the part of many young people in entrepreneurship. These changes prompt the school's desire to meet student needs by strengthening its curriculum in management, and including these topics in the basic program.

Cosmetology (Hairdressing)

Hairdressing One (HR1)
This is a prerequisite course for all other hair-oriented programs, and gives students basic job skills. Subjects taught:

  • Relaxers

Hairdressing Two (HR2)
Continuing to polish the skills learned in Hairdressing One, heavily supervised clinic experiences help students gain confidence and agility. Subjects: continuation of subjects in HR1.

Hairdressing Clinic One and Two (HRC1 & HRC2)
Hairdressing Clinics provide students with clinical experiences (working on people). Each student must complete a minimum of twelve weeks in the hairdressing clinic during the day, or twenty-two weeks in the evening class. Students are graded on the following services: Blow Dry, Brow Arching, Facials, Fingerwaving, Haircoloring, Hairstyling, Make-Up Applications, Manicures, Permanents, Scalp Treatments, Shampoo and Theory.

Esthetics (Skin Care)

The Esthetics program teaches a scientific approach to corrective and protective skin care, including:

  • Facials - with & without Professional Skin Equipment
  • Bacials - (a facial on your entire back - A BCSBC Original!)
  • Professional Skin Equipment - Rotary Brushes, Ionic Vapor, High Frequency, Galvanic Current, Pneumopatted Vacuum
  • Waxing
  • Make UP
  • Paraffin Spas
  • Aromatherapy

The course also teaches ear piercing, color draping, cosmetics and other related topics. Graduates will be qualified to work as Estheticians in a Licensed Cosmetology shop, Make-up Specialists in a Licensed shop or for a Cosmetic Line. A graduate is also able to own and operate an Esthetics salon in Pennsylvania. Other subjects taught: Aromatherapy, Consultation, Color Draping, Cosmetics, Ear Piercing, Final, Masks, Machinery, Make-up, Management, Massage, Nutrition, Preparation and Waxing.

Nail Tech

The Manicuring course covers all aspects of being a nail professional. Some of the topics covered include:

  • manicuring
  • pedicuring
  • sculpturing
  • tipping
  • wrapping
  • gel bonding
  • massage
  • aromatherapy
  • paraffin spas
  • nail design

Completion of Manicuring is a prerequisite to the Nail Clinic. Graduation requires satisfactorily completing the course of instruction, including the Manicuring Clinic and the prerequisite Fundamentals of Non-Hair Services. Upon graduation, each student will be qualified to work in a Licensed Cosmetology shop or own and operate their own Nail Care salon.
