I usually love Acaydia. been coming since before they moved to this building. I got lash extensions for the first time (ever) and when I tell you it was miserable and disappointing... wow.
it took two and a half hours. now, that would be fine, if I didn't get the results I did. more on that later.
1. their "spa chairs" are genuinely so uncomfortable. and I'm not someone who usually has issue. but by about halfway through the service I was in an *immense* amount of pain and left with the beginnings of a migraine. it stemmed from the chair having zero head/neck support. I got a horrible pressure point on the back of my skull, felt like someone was pressing a small rock there. new chairs or at least *pillows* are in order.
2. this might be minor to some, but as someone who struggles with overstimulation and sensory problems, the last thing I want when I go to a *spa* is to be put in a room where two other people are getting services and the other techs and clients are loudly yapping non-stop. had me wanting to bolt. my tech, blissfully, was silent.
3. maybe it's my fault for forgetting to remove my mascara before coming, but she rubbed the skin around my eyes/lids almost raw trying to get it off. I swear she was rubbing at them for at least 5 minutes. it does not take that much pressure, or time, to get off mascara. (and no, it wasn't waterproof.)
4. the results. holy underwhelming and almost unacceptable. some may say "why didn't you just tell them when you were there?" well, for the reasons outlined above, I just wanted *out of there* and to go home. I was immediately underwhelmed as they looked nothing like the classic sets I'd viewed online. barely any lashes. when I got to my car, I looked in the visor mirror and immediately noticed she'd glued the outermost lash on my left eye to one of my bottom lashes. so.. it immediately got plucked off. I followed all aftercare instructions - and by day 2, three lashes had already fallen off. many of the lashes were placed halfway up my lash as well, which looked terrible, and the glue beads were very large. now that I've researched more, I know this is very wrong.
5. the amount of lashes put on compared to the time. I am not joking you - on my right eye (which only had one lash fall), I have now removed them with a remover cream and I count only *sixteen lashes*. sixteen. not to sound like I'm bragging, but I absolutely have more than 16 lashes on my lids. lets be generous and round up to 20 lashes per lid, assuming some may have fallen in my sleep I didn't notice. it took 2.5 hours to put on 40 lashes? again, after research, I've learned every natural lash is meant to have an extension placed. I honestly almost feel scammed to have been charged $70. I've removed them not even a full week later, for context.
in conclusion, I have to give grace that these girls are students, which is why it's three stars instead of one. however, the instructors came in and checked in multiple times, and no issue was spotted? so I'm still bothered. anyway, no hate, just genuine feedback from someone who had a pretty bad experience and may honestly not come back for any services again.
